Is this a cold sore its been 3 months help?

Ive had a cold sore since july after a huge breakup with an ex. its now sep. ive seen a dr and he gave me denavir, now idk if my lip is healed, where the sore once was it looks like just flakes of dry skin, and on top of my lip too dry skin, not golden or anything just dry flakey skin, i also developed a canker sore inside my lip, what is seriously going on? i do not share anything with people and ive been taking care of my lip, i also drink alot if that could cause it?
