Is there a book I could purchase...?

Hello everyone! I was wondering if there's such a book (or series/volumes of books) that have in them a synopsis of world history... All of it! In elementary, middle and high school, one is taught usually history in general, depending on where you live, since it's over a time of twelve years, one is not (Well at least I wasn't able) to connect all the history together. Can anyone give me any recommendations of, how I mentioned before, a book or a series of books or volumes that contain a synopsis of general world history (and are readable within the span of a lifetime please, hehe) Thanks fellas!
