Anybody out there tear/ severed ACL w/out it being a sport injury?

Has anybody else out there injured their ACL with out it being a sporting injury? I fell down a staircase a week ago and caught my foot in the railing on the way down...severed mine. I am really scared of what is going to happen during the reconstruction and am wondering if I am the only one out there.
