Why are my snakes scales turned up?

i was just holding him and i noticed about 8 of his scales are bent backwards (not like totally flipped up, but like if you bent a piece of paper. like that). Im wondering if hes sick or if he just caught them on something. Please help. i'm really worried about him. I just got him last week. They are around where his meal is but they have never turned up before from his meal. I fed him 3 pinkies because i dont have any of the bigger mice that he eats. So i comprimized
